Carlos Caires (b. 1968) is a Portuguese composer whose work encompasses pieces for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, and orchestra, frequently integrating electronics. His creative output also includes music for animation cinema and interactive installations that utilize 3D spatial audio, generative visuals, and gesture-based systems. Additionally, he is the developer of IRIN, a software application for sound micromontage and electroacoustic composition.

Invisible Places-MUSEUM is a highly interactive space in which the participant uses their hands to awaken and manipulate a multi-channel sound system in dialogue with an imagery component. The software also includes other features aimed at sound performance and improvisation in immersive environments.
